What to wear and bring to a yoga class

Wear comfortable clothing which allows you to move. There is no need for expensive sportswear or yogawear. A teeshirt and a pair of leggings or jogging bottoms are perfect. We practice yoga barefoot, so you will take your shoes off before we start. You may want a warm layer for the end of class.

If you have a yoga mat, please bring one. Ali will provide a small number of mats for first-time students. Once you know you will attend regularly, it is a good idea to purchase your own yoga mat.

A blanket or towel is optional. This is good for padding for the knees in some postures, for sitting on in some seated postures, and it can also be used as a cushion under the head or knees in our final relaxation.

It can be uncomfortable to practice yoga if you have eaten a big meal. A gap of 1-2 hours is ideal. Bring a bottle of water to class with you. It is good to rehydrate after class.
